As his athletic career concluded, he was ultimately diagnosed with kidney failure. Over several years, his kidney function steadily deteriorated, reaching a critical level in 2025. Due to the progression to end-stage kidney failure, Raimundas commenced hemodialysis treatments at Kauno klinikas.
In addition to receiving care, he was also included on the registry for potential kidney donation.
