Just a few hundred meters remained to the German border: Polish border guards returned to Lithuania 5 more migrants who had been captured

Polish border guards intercepted a vehicle on July 11 near Szczecin. Officers at the border protection post stopped a Ukrainian national who was reportedly attempting to transport five foreign nationals toward Germany. The incident occurred when the car, a Volkswagen Passat, was halted on the S10 motorway, situated just a few hundred meters from the Polish-German border.

The vehicle contained the Ukrainian driver, along with four individuals identified as Ethiopian and one Eritrean. Polish authorities stated that the passengers had previously crossed the border illegally, moving from Lithuania into Poland, with the stated intention of proceeding into Germany. Following the stop, the Polish prosecutor’s office initiated an investigation.

Charges have been filed against the Ukrainian man, accusing him of organizing the illegal transit of the five foreigners and of using a forged Ukrainian driver’s license at the control point. The driver has formally denied all charges brought against him. The action highlights ongoing enforcement efforts concerning irregular migration across the region’s borders.

The intervention underscores the border guards’ role in monitoring movement and enforcing national immigration laws in the area.
