LMKA elected a new president: the association will be led by the writer M. Gailius

A new individual has assumed the leadership role for the association, succeeding former president Jonas Staselis. Staselis’s tenure concluded on June 15th, following a period during which the association voiced concerns regarding his leadership during a conference held at the end of April. The transition was formalized during a council meeting held on Wednesday.

The new leader secured the presidency after receiving 14 votes in favor from the 18 council members present. The vote tally included one dissenting vote and three abstentions. Speaking after his election, the new president outlined a proactive agenda for the organization.

He indicated that the association possesses significant untapped potential, necessitating immediate attention to several core areas. His initial focus will involve fundamental improvements, including the renewal of communication channels and the updating of the official website. Furthermore, he committed to developing a comprehensive strategy for the organization.

A key objective highlighted was the revision of the association’s statutes, which are noted to be over two decades old and are considered both morally and legally outdated. The new president emphasized that these foundational updates are crucial for the future stability and growth of the association.
