A man was injured in a fire in Jonava

On July 15, at approximately 6:56 PM, Jonava firefighters responded to a call regarding a fire at a multi-apartment building on Lietava street. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke emanating from an apartment. Rescuers subsequently entered the unit to assess the situation.

The source of the fire was identified as a wardrobe and a section of the wardrobe within the apartment. Following the incident, the resident of the apartment was evacuated and transported to the hospital for care. Fire services reported that the fire caused significant damage within the unit, specifically affecting the wardrobe and surrounding areas.

The walls and ceilings of the apartment sustained water damage from firefighting efforts, and the floors were found to be wet. Authorities confirmed that the apartment located directly beneath the affected unit was not flooded. An investigation into the details of the fire is currently underway.
