Essentially, the compromised records could constitute a detailed profile of an individual’s real estate holdings and living circumstances. Vincent Zabulis, who holds an LL.M. from UCL, advises that affected individuals should not solely rely on the investigative processes of the relevant institutions to protect their rights.
He emphasizes that self-reliance is necessary in such circumstances. According to the legal team, waiting for official investigations alone may not be sufficient to ensure the defense of one’s rights. The advice suggests a proactive approach is advisable for those whose personal data has been potentially exposed through the register.
