Lithuanian journalist Vygintas Mačiulis, 80, underwent a heart stent procedure on his 80th birthday. The operation took place at Kaunas Clinical Hospital and involved the insertion of three stents. Following the interventional procedure, Mr.
Mačiulis was admitted to the intensive care unit for observation. Doctors determined that a significant blockage – 95 percent – had occurred in the main artery of the renowned “Krepšinio” show host. The veteran journalist publicly addressed his health situation via Facebook, sharing details of his experience.
“GYVENAU IR GYVENSIU,” he wrote, referencing his long-running television show, and expressed gratitude to the medical team in Kaunas. He included a photograph taken within the intensive care unit. Related reports indicate that fellow basketball personality Rolandas Kurtinaitis is not being considered for the Lithuanian national team due to a belief in his ability to succeed.
