In the Pasvalys district, a car and a bus collided

According to reports from the Panevėžys police, a vehicular accident occurred at approximately 6:12 a.m. in Diliauskų village, situated on the Panevėžys-Pasvalys-Riga road, at the 41.40-kilometer mark. The collision involved two vehicles: a “Volkswagen Passat CC” driven by a 1993-born man, and a “Scania Touring HD” bus operated by a 1958-born man.

Initial data indicates that the Passat CC deviated into the opposing lane, resulting in the impact with the bus. Following the incident, multiple individuals required medical assistance. Specifically, a young man, born in 2006, who was a passenger on the bus, sustained injuries, as did the bus driver.

Both individuals were promptly attended to by emergency medical services. Police authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash. The report also noted related incidents involving road safety, including a separate accident involving a Latvian national and a Lithuanian company bus, as well as an incident where a bus carrying British tourists became disoriented on the road, resulting in injuries to passengers who were transported to two different hospitals.

The investigation into the primary collision aims to determine the precise cause of the accident. Authorities continue to investigate road safety protocols for commercial and private transport operating within the region.
