The winning company will secure a lease for a plot covering 11.2 thousand square meters for a duration of 40 years. This undertaking is anticipated to generate over 100 new employment opportunities. Darius Viltrakis, CEO of GetJet Group, stated that this investment aligns with the group’s broader growth strategy.

This strategy is designed to bolster internal maintenance capabilities and decrease reliance on external service providers. Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičė, the temporary head of Lithuanian Airports (LTOU), indicated that the project will contribute to enhancing Lithuania’s standing as a competitive hub for high-value aviation services. Furthermore, Elijus Čivilis, head of the Investment Promotion Agency “Investuok Lietuvoje,” noted that the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) sector is a source of well-compensated employment.

The development is positioned as a significant economic driver. According to officials, the expansion supports the modernization of the aviation infrastructure. The creation of these new jobs underscores the sector’s growth trajectory.
