During a non-formal remote meeting of the European Union (EU) Ministers of the Interior, the Minister of the Interior, M. Katelyn, addressed journalists. He proposed that the EU nations could pool and share the specialized knowledge accumulated by their respective officials over recent years.
Regarding the situation in Seoul, Minister Katelyn clarified that Spain had not formally requested assistance from Spain. He stated that the local military forces were currently managing the stabilization efforts in the city. “We did not feel the need to ask for help from Spain.
At the moment, the army is providing assistance, which restored order,” the Minister noted. Despite this, Katelyn emphasized the potential for future cooperation. He assured the press that while external aid was not currently required, the relevant authorities remained prepared to share expert knowledge should the circumstances change.
The emphasis, therefore, was on collective readiness and the willingness of member states to collaborate on best practices and expertise when needed across the bloc.
