The car was exceptional in this category: it set a monthly record

In July, the registration figures for passenger electric cars showed a significant increase. A total of 2,521 electric vehicles were registered during the month. This total comprised 1,071 pure electric cars and 1,450 plug-in hybrid cars.

This monthly count represents a 59.1% rise compared to the same period last year, when 1,585 such vehicles were registered. Month-over-month, the registration rate of these electric cars was 2,369 in June. Additionally, 36 passenger electric cars were registered in July, compared to 53 in the prior year.

Looking at the broader national inventory, as of August 1, 2026, the Lithuanian road transport fleet register recorded 57,158 total passenger cars in the M1 category. Within this total, 29,035 pure electric cars and 28,123 plug-in hybrid cars were accounted for. Furthermore, the registration records included 1,156 passenger electric cars classified under the N1 category.

This N1 segment consists of 1,102 pure electric units and 54 plug-in hybrid models. These statistics detail the growing presence of electric vehicles across both newly registered cars and the overall fleet composition.
