6,2 thousand marriages were registered in Lithuania in the first half of the year – less than the same period last year

A total of 4,087 marriages were registered across various civil registry offices. The volume of marriages varied significantly among the different locations. The Vilnius city civil registry recorded the highest number of marriages, with 1,186 instances.

Kaunas followed with 726 marriages registered at its civil registry. Klaipėda reported 285 marriages, and Šiauliai recorded 221. Conversely, the Panevėžys city civil registry reported the lowest count, with 134 marriages registered.

Beyond the local counts, the data indicates that 911 marriages were also included in the state register during this period. Furthermore, an additional 1,206 marriages were documented as having taken place in foreign countries. These figures provide a comprehensive overview of the total number of marriages registered through both domestic and international channels.

The data highlights the primary centers for civil ceremonies, with Vilnius leading the count of marriages registered within its municipal boundaries.
