After the storm, the firefighters’ weekend was full of work: 142 rescue operations and 75 firefighting operations

An incident involving an explosion was reported on Friday at 07:13 in the Trakų district of Rūdiškės, specifically on New Street. The blast occurred on the first floor of a multi-apartment building. The force of the explosion caused windows across both sides of the adjacent apartment to shatter, cracked the ceiling panels in the two-room unit, and resulted in damage to the furniture and the door within the affected apartment.

A plume of smoke spread throughout the building, and one woman was injured by the blast and subsequently transported to the hospital. Later, at 10:37 in Šiauliai, a separate incident was reported on Lyros Street involving a smoking bed. Firefighters arrived at the location and conducted internal operations to extinguish the smoldering material.

In a separate development, reports detailed severe storm activity across the region, with strong winds observed even near Druskininkai, causing trees to fall. A child in a local building was taken to the hospital, though initial reports indicated no injuries. At the Šiauliai site, the bed, nearby clothing, and pillow were burned, and the surrounding walls of the room were soaked, indicating a lack of smoke detectors within the structure.
