Emergency medical personnel transported a patient from the village of Reča-Kristura in Transylvania to a hospital facility in Cluj-Napoca. The journey encountered significant obstacles when the road was obstructed by a vehicle en route to the treatment center. Furthermore, the medical team reported being attacked by individuals armed with knives, sticks, and stones.

According to reports in the Romanian media, the attackers allegedly cited viewing content on the “TikTok” platform as the basis for believing that emergency vehicles posed a danger. Despite the assault, the emergency driver sustained an eye injury but managed to continue the transport, ultimately reaching the hospital located approximately 30 kilometers away. Upon arrival, the Cluj-Napoca hospital confirmed that the patient was safely delivered to the facility.

Regarding the driver’s injury, the hospital stated that the recovery process for the damaged eye is expected to take around three months. The incident highlights the challenges faced by medical services when responding to critical care needs in the area. The coordination between the field medical workers and the receiving hospital was successful, despite the violent confrontation encountered en route.
