According to statements made in an interview published on Monday by Delfi, Skvernelis indicated that his appeal stems from remarks made by President Gitanas Nausėda regarding his ongoing criminal case. In separate domestic policy developments, Inga Ruginienė, the Minister of Social Security and Labour, revealed plans to present the Government with a comprehensive two-year strategy aimed at accelerating the indexing of pensions.
Under the proposed framework, the plan stipulates that pension payments would receive an increase of at least 10% in the coming year, utilizing projected budget surpluses from the Social Insurance Fund (Sods) to facilitate this additional indexing. On the international front, several significant global concerns were noted. Climate monitoring indicates that June and July are historically projected to be the hottest months across Europe.
