In the head office of Žalgiris-2, there is a former Žalgiris player

For the upcoming 2026-2027 season, the organizational structure for the Žalgiris-2 basketball team has been announced, detailing key personnel across coaching and support roles. Kasparas Vecvagaras has been named the head coach for the squad, supported by Martynas Gailiūnas and T. Klimavičius.

The operational support for the team will be managed by Rokas Galvanauskas, who will serve as the physical training coach, while Tomas Lesutis has been appointed as the kinesiologist. Andrius Gopenas is set to continue his role as the team leader. Furthermore, M.

Gailiūnas will maintain his responsibilities as the head coach for the Žalgiris-3 squad. A notable addition to the coaching staff is T. Klimavičius.

His involvement marks a transition for the player, who first debuted with the senior Žalgiris men’s team in 2002 after gaining experience with the youth squad. Klimavičius brings significant institutional knowledge, having previously spent seven seasons with the Kaunas organization and accumulating four LKL (Lietuvos krepšinio lyga) championships during his tenure. The appointments solidify the coaching continuity across the club’s developmental levels.

The combined expertise of the head coach and supporting staff aims to guide the squad through the rigorous demands of the upcoming competitive season. These structural decisions underscore the club’s commitment to structured development, ensuring that both on-court leadership and specialized physical conditioning are maintained at a high level for the entire program.
