LVŽS approved 14 more candidates for mayors

Ligita Girskienė, the head of the LVŽS election headquarters, has confirmed that all the candidates submitted by the respective departments have been officially accepted. According to Girskienė, the roster of individuals put forward by the “People’s Party” is set for the upcoming municipal councils and mayors elections scheduled for October. The party has fielded candidates across numerous districts, ensuring broad participation in the local governance races.

Specific candidates vying for office include Petras Valiūnas, who will be seeking the position of mayor in the Alytus district. Other notable contenders include Renata Sorakienė representing the Jonava district, and Vincas Plikaitis for Kalvarija. The slate of candidates continues with Dalius Serafinas in Kėdainiai, and Romas Karmazinas in Klaipėda.

Further representation is noted in Marijampolė with Kęstutis Tumelis, and in Panevėžys, where Edmundas Toliušis is registered. Additionally, Andrius Stančikas is slated to run in Plungė, while Lina Meilutė-Datkūnienė represents Šilutė. The list of candidates also includes Rudolfas Barauskas for Trakai and Daiva Griškevičienė for Rokiškis.

Girskienė confirmed that all these individuals are officially recognized candidates in the upcoming electoral cycle, ensuring that all necessary procedural steps for the mayoral and council elections have been completed.
