“Bitė” and “Tele2” have restored most of the network

Tele2 has issued an update regarding the impact of a recent storm on its network infrastructure. The mobile operator reports that power supply has been restored to the most of the 366 base stations that were affected by the adverse weather. According to data collected on Tuesday, 99 base stations remain without operational power.

The company has confirmed that service has been successfully restored across several key regions, including Panevėžys, Telšiai, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Tauragė, Vilnius, and Alytus. However, the situation remains more complex in certain areas, specifically parts of the Marijampolė, Kaunas, and Utenos districts. In an effort to maximize service availability, the restoration efforts are prioritizing densely populated zones, which has brought coverage to an estimated 99% of the population.

Valerijus, the Tele2 technical director for the Baltic countries, stated that technical teams are actively engaged in the affected stations. Their current operations involve charging batteries and maintaining generator functionality to ensure continuous service until permanent power supply can be reestablished across the network. The focus remains on systematically bringing all affected nodes back online.
