Kęstutis Baranauskas, the chairman of the board, stated the intention to initiate the development project in phases as quickly as possible, with the goal of delivering the first residential units by 2030. The development is centered on the Radviliškis machine factory, which occupies a 12-hectare plot located at Vytauto st. 3, near the city center.
This site currently houses a mix of administrative and production buildings. According to Baranauskas, the company currently utilizes approximately half of the total area for its ongoing production activities. To guide the redevelopment, the company organized an architectural competition in collaboration with the Kaunas branch of the Lithuanian Architects’ Union.
Following the judging process, the design titled “Jovaras,” submitted by the company’s internal “Ambraso Architects’ Office,” was selected as the winning design. The selection of this design marks a significant step toward revitalizing the site. The phased approach outlined by the chairman suggests a structured plan to modernize the facilities while maintaining operational continuity for the existing production needs of the factory.
The project aims to transform the industrial area into a mixed-use space, balancing residential development with the continued function of the manufacturing operations housed within the 12-hectare premises.
