It is reported how much the average wage increased in Lithuania per year

Economic data indicates varied wage growth across different parts of the economy over the past year. Specifically, gross wages within the public sector saw an increase of 11.3% (representing a net increase of 10.4%), while the private sector experienced a real-term wage increase of 9.6% (net 8.7%) over the same year. Examining the real wages index for the second quarter of 2026, the overall national economy registered an index of 103.4%.

This figure shows that the public sector maintained a higher real wage index at 104.6%, compared to 103% recorded in the private sector. Focusing on quarterly performance, average monthly gross wages reached €2.63 thousand in the second quarter of this year, marking a 2.9% increase compared to the first quarter. Disaggregating this data by sector, the public sector reported an average wage of €2.82 thousand, an increase of 4.6% over the preceding quarter.

Conversely, the private sector reported an average wage of €2.55 thousand, reflecting a 2.2% quarterly increase. These figures detail the differential rates at which wages have increased across both public and private employment segments.
