According to the analysis, a primary objective of these actions is to impede land export routes. Furthermore, analysts suggest that a key goal is to undermine Ukraine’s economy, particularly by disrupting vital grain exports, while simultaneously exerting pressure on neighboring countries.
Given the pattern of attacks, ISW estimates that Russian forces are likely to continue their targeting activities against Ukraine’s various border checkpoints. The cumulative impact of these strikes throughout August highlights a sustained effort by Russian military assets to disrupt Ukraine’s logistical and economic capabilities along its borders.
