Police officers found the suspect, who was born in 1985, to be intoxicated. During the encounter, the suspect reportedly kicked the door of the temporary detention facility twice and subsequently injured an investigator belonging to the Panevėžys County Police Department (born in 2002). The officer received medical attention and was treated on an outpatient basis following the assault.

The situation escalated approximately an hour later, at 2:45 a.m., on Beržų street.
