Multiple incidents involving structural fires were reported across Lithuania over several days. On Friday, May 21st, a fire occurred in a metal container-drying room located in the Raguvos district of Panevėžys, specifically in the Praščiūnai village. The blaze involved 12 cubic meters of rapeseed and resulted in the destruction of the wooden drying room structures.
Additionally, the fire damaged the walls of an adjacent farmhouse and melted its plastic windows. Firefighters were able to secure the farmhouse, which was situated 30 meters from the primary fire site. Later that day, at approximately 7:16 PM, a separate fire broke out in a cafe on Savanorių prospekt in Kaunas.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the premises filled with smoke. Investigations revealed that charcoal was burning in the kitchen grill, and the ventilation shaft was reportedly blocked, contributing to the situation. Further incidents were reported on Saturday, July 10th.
In the Katinų village, within the Jankų district of Kazlų Rūda, a residential building experienced a fire. Authorities discovered a dog that had been burned inside the structure. The fire destroyed the roof and burned household items within the building’s interior.
Separately, a general report noted a fire incident in Vilnius, which prompted services to remain on high alert. In all reported instances, firefighters responded to control the blaze and ensure public safety.
