According to Baranauskienė, a primary indicator of fraudulent activity is the sender’s email address. Official accounts from Telia customers are consistently sent from the address noreply@telia.lt. However, scammers frequently utilize domains that closely mimic the genuine address, often differing by only a single letter, symbol, or suffix.
Furthermore, any correspondence that creates a sense of urgency or pressures the recipient to act quickly should raise suspicion. The increasing sophistication of these phishing attempts means that vigilance is more critical than ever. Consumers should exercise caution, recognizing that the goal of these deceptive communications is to trick recipients into divulging sensitive information or clicking malicious links.
