Drunk driver drove a truck through Vilnius – witnesses opened the cab door, the man was “shot”

Reports emerged on June 2nd detailing multiple incidents involving intoxicated commercial vehicles in Vilnius. The first report was logged at 12:56 PM, initiated by a witness who stated they had apprehended a drunk man operating a truck. According to this initial account, the vehicle was traveling along Riovonių street near the tunnel when it was observed impacting the roadbed.

After the truck came to a halt, the witness approached the cab and found the driver to be asleep. A subsequent report arrived shortly after, at 1:01 PM, indicating another arrest related to an intoxicated truck driver. This second incident provided a slightly different account of the circumstances.

A separate witness reported that the truck had made contact with a pile of construction waste. In connection with this second event, the witness further stated that the driver was heavily affected by alcohol. These reports highlight multiple instances of impaired operation involving commercial vehicles within a short timeframe.

Authorities responded to both situations following the initial witness calls. The details provided suggest a pattern of unsafe driving behavior, involving at least two separate arrests of a drunk driver operating a truck within minutes of each other. The police investigation continues to address the circumstances surrounding these incidents.
