A driver with dual citizenship in a crossover – a Pakistani and five Afghans

On Sunday evening, law enforcement personnel conducted a stop in Utena following intelligence received by the VSAT Vilnius Border Guard Detachment Criminal Intelligence Department. Officers intercepted a Toyota Yaris Cross bearing Polish license plates. The vehicle was being operated by a 19-year-old male and was carrying six young foreign nationals.

Upon reaching the location, officers from the VSAT Puškos Border Guard Detachment, which operates under the Vilnius Border Guard Detachment umbrella, took five of the occupants into custody. The sixth individual was identified as being from Pakistan. Authorities confirmed that the entire group had entered Lithuania via Latvia and had not filed for asylum within the country.

The foreign driver was subsequently detained and transported to the temporary detention facility managed by the VSAT Vilnius Border Guard Detachment. The operation highlights the ongoing monitoring efforts conducted by the border services. Personnel from the border guard units are tasked with managing border security and processing individuals who cross international lines.

The coordination between different detachments ensures consistent enforcement of border regulations. This incident underscores the operational scope of the border guard in monitoring movement across the national frontier.
