A fraudster pretending to be a woman robbed an old woman in Vilnius

The Vilnius County Police Department reported an incident that occurred on August 5 at 10:03 a.m. The police received a report regarding a theft that took place in a flat located on Viršuliškių g. in Vilnius.

According to the report, an unknown woman, identified as being born in 1936, entered the residence. She reportedly stated that she had brought a pension payment. When the flat’s owner retrieved personal savings to reconcile or verify the funds, the woman allegedly seized all the money present and subsequently fled the scene.

The estimated financial loss resulting from the incident was reported to be 7,000 euros. Police have initiated a preliminary investigation into the theft. The incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding financial security within the community.

While the primary focus remains on the theft involving the woman and the substantial amount of money taken, authorities noted that the department is also investigating other recent incidents, including the recovery of a stolen motorcycle in the Mažeikiai district and other reports of property loss across the region.
