A heavy drunk driver caused an accident in Utena district – 4 people were taken to the hospital

Multiple traffic incidents were reported across different regions, involving varied causes and resulting in several injuries. One notable accident occurred near the boundary of Taukelių village on the Kaunas-Zarasai road. Initial reports indicated that a Honda CR-V reportedly veered into the opposing lane, resulting in a collision with a BMW.

The vehicle carrying the Honda CR-V was occupied by two men and one woman, while the BMW was driven by a man. Authorities determined that the driver of the Honda CR-V was significantly intoxicated, testing at a blood alcohol level of 2.6 promille. All four occupants sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital.

Separately, incidents were reported in other districts. In the Šilalė district, police responded to a dramatic pursuit involving an intoxicated young man. Furthermore, in the Vilnius district, authorities dealt with a group of intoxicated riders who reportedly damaged property by crashing into ditches and a building wall.

Another separate incident involved a heavy vehicle originating from Latvia, which was struck by a tree that had overturned. These varied reports highlight multiple traffic safety concerns across the region.
