A judge limited the freedom of a man who attacked a supporter of Ukraine – he will have to participate in a program changing violent behavior

The Vilnius region district court has found an individual, identified as J. J. (born in 1987), guilty of damaging property and causing minor health impairment.

The court sentenced the defendant to a term of imprisonment lasting one year and three months. Beyond incarceration, the court imposed several mandates on Mr. J.

J. He is required to either secure employment or register with the Employment Service and must also actively participate in a specialized rehabilitation program designed to modify violent behavior. The incident leading to the conviction occurred on the evening of March 27, 2025, in the Širvintos district.

According to court records, Mr. J. J.

was operating a vehicle on the road when he approached a victim who was cycling in the same direction. In addition to the custodial sentence and rehabilitation requirements, the defendant was ordered to provide comprehensive compensation to the victim. This compensation must cover both material and non-material damages sustained.

Furthermore, Mr. J. J.

is responsible for paying the civil lawsuit costs incurred by the State Health Insurance Fund, specifically covering the expenses related to the victim’s medical treatment. The court’s judgment establishes accountability for the actions taken during the traffic incident.
