A loud purchase: Vykintas Slivka arrives at Kaunas Žalgiris

V. Slivka has signed a contract with Kauno Žalgiris, extending his commitment with the club until the end of 2028. This agreement marks the return of the veteran goalkeeper to Lithuania, concluding a professional career that saw him spend nearly fifteen years playing abroad.

Slivka, originally from Panevėžys, departed the Juventus system in Turin in 2012. Since then, he has amassed experience across several international leagues. His career path has been varied, seeing him play for clubs in multiple countries.

In Italy, he notably played for Modena and Ascoli. Furthermore, he also represented Nova Gorica “Gorica” in Slovenia, Den Bosch “Hibernian” in the Netherlands, and clubs in Greece, including “Lamia” and “Apollon Smyrnis.” Most recently, his professional journey took him to the Tosu “Sagan” club in Japan. Kauno Žalgiris expressed satisfaction with the signing, stating that the club actively monitors talented Lithuanian players and is pleased that Vyktinas Slivka has chosen to return to play in Lithuania.

The contract solidifies Slivka’s role with Kauno Žalgiris as the team looks forward to his continued contributions on the pitch.
