A man burned his feet in a fire in Vilnius – first of all, an electric bicycle caught fire

According to information received by Lrytas from the Fire and Rescue Department, a specific fire incident was reported on June 29 at approximately 11:57 AM at the location of Balsių Sodo 2-oji g. The initial report indicated that the fire originated in a two-story residential building that housed workshops. Furthermore, responders noted the presence of a gas cylinder within the structure.

To combat the blaze, two fire tankers were deployed to the scene to manage the fire. This specific event was part of a period of increased emergency activity across the Lazdijai district, which experienced hot weather over the preceding weekend. Fire services were called to multiple incidents.

In one notable occurrence, a fire was reported involving an electric bicycle within a garage workshop. Emergency crews successfully extinguished this fire around 12:17 PM. The department also managed other significant calls, including an incident at the Lazdijai station.

During this period of heightened activity, emergency services were responsible for the evacuation of 52 children. The overall operational tempo reflected the challenges posed by the hot weather conditions. The department continues to manage reports and respond to various incidents, underscoring the continuous readiness of the fire and rescue personnel.
