On August 19, at 5:23 a.m., fire department personnel were dispatched to Ziburio street following a reported incident involving a fire in a multi-apartment building. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the blaze originating in the kitchen of a one-room apartment. The occupant was evacuated and initially found unconscious; however, the individual regained consciousness after being moved to the stairwell.
The fire caused significant damage within the apartment, destroying kitchen furniture, household appliances, various household items, and sections of the walls. Authorities noted the absence of a smoke detector within the unit. To combat the fire, three tankers and an autoklētru were utilized.
The incident is currently under investigation by local authorities. Separately, other fire incidents were reported across various districts. These included an agricultural building targeted by arson in the Molėtų district, a vehicle fire in Vilnius, and multiple instances of burning cars in the Elektrėnų and Trakų districts.
Additionally, a house and garage were involved in a fire in Palanga. In all reported instances across the region, no injuries were sustained, though the material losses were considerable.
