A police investigation has been launched following a report of a significant financial fraud involving the purchase of a vehicle. A man, born in 1964, contacted authorities on Friday to report the incident. The transaction reportedly took place on June 25 at approximately 12:00 PM in the Elektrėnai district.
According to the man’s statement, he initiated a payment of €18,278 to a seller advertising on the website www.mobile.de. The purpose of the payment was the acquisition of a specific automobile, identified as a BMW X3. The funds were transferred in anticipation of receiving the car.
However, the transaction concluded without the buyer receiving the vehicle, nor was the substantial sum of money returned to him. The details suggest that the individual who facilitated the sale failed to deliver the bmw or provide any means of reimbursement for the payment. Authorities have since opened a formal investigation to examine the circumstances surrounding the transfer and determine the nature of the fraud.
The police are currently gathering evidence related to the online advertisement and the financial trail associated with the purchase. The investigation aims to identify the responsible parties involved in the scheme that defrauded the man of the considerable sum of money.
