A multi-storey car park has been opened at Kaunas Airport

The development of a new, expanded parking facility is set to significantly enhance the infrastructure of the airport complex. This new area is projected to cover 25,000 square meters and will accommodate a total of 912 parking spaces. The design incorporates specific provisions for accessibility and modern vehicle types, including 96 designated spaces for individuals with special needs and 10 spots equipped with electric vehicle charging stations.

According to the company overseeing the project, the addition of this facility is expected to boost the overall parking capacity within the airport access area by approximately 60%. The need for such substantial infrastructure growth stems from the increasing operational demands placed on Kauno Airport. The facility serves as a major regional transport hub, experiencing rapid growth in both passenger volume and flight numbers.

This sustained expansion necessitates continuous upgrades to the supporting infrastructure to manage current and future traffic levels effectively. The development aims to solidify the airport’s capability to handle increased passenger flow by providing ample and modern parking solutions. By expanding the physical footprint and capacity of the parking infrastructure, the airport aims to improve visitor convenience and overall operational efficiency for the entire region.
