The port of Klaipėda continues to see significant activity from international maritime traffic. According to Romena Savickienė, head of the Klaipėda Tourism Information Center, the vessel Borealis recently brought 1,163 tourists to the port, with the majority originating from the United Kingdom. The captain of the traditional first-time-at-sea ship was presented with the official sign of the Klaipėda Port.
This visit marked the eleventh cruise vessel to arrive in Klaipėda this year, with the port anticipating a total of 63 cruise ships passing through its gates throughout the year. The immediate schedule includes the arrival of the 8-hour cruise vessel, Spirit of Adventure, on Friday, June 12, at 8 a.m. Looking ahead, the following week promises a notable influx of visitors.
On Wednesday, June 17, Klaipėda will host three cruise vessels in a single day, including the 225-meter MS E, scheduled to enter the port at 8 a.m. In terms of infrastructure development, a new cruise terminal is currently under construction, a project valued at 70 million euros, designed to accommodate the growing volume of passenger ship traffic. These developments highlight the port’s ongoing capacity to manage high volumes of international tourism throughout the current week and beyond.
