A. Norkienė: we would be a bit surprised if we started to renegotiate the ministries

Speaking to Eltai following a board meeting of LVŽS, A. Norkienė expressed confidence in the current cabinet structure, stating that the party believes its ministers are performing adequately and that no changes are necessary. She indicated that the party is prepared for the ministers currently assigned to their roles to remain in place.

Norkienė added that while discussions regarding programmatic issues are anticipated, she does not foresee the party being easily persuaded to renegotiate the composition of the ministries. She concluded that the party would not accept any overly critical commentary on this matter. The discussion followed recent criticisms leveled by the opposition against the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Edvinas Grikšas.

Specifically, the opposition has repeatedly questioned him regarding the failure to inform the public about data stolen from the Registry Center (RC). When questioned about the likelihood of the Social Democrats raising concerns about Minister Grikšas, Norkienė expressed skepticism. She asserted that while the Social Democrats possess their own viewpoint, their criticism would not be accepted by the party.

  1. What specific criteria would need to be met for the party to reconsider renegotiating the current ministerial structure?
