Heavy rainfall caused significant flooding across several areas, with the Dziaulos community in the Łódź Voivodeship experiencing particularly severe conditions. Emergency services were activated early, receiving calls as early as 7 p.m. Firefighters documented approximately 40 reports concerning flooded basements, inundated roads, and damaged infrastructure.
The intensity of the rain was substantial, causing some streets to turn into fast-flowing rivers. In certain locations, the national road No. 42 became completely submerged.
Amid the weather event, rescue teams were required to evacuate nine individuals, including five children. Furthermore, three vehicles became immobilized in water-filled depressions, preventing their drivers from continuing travel. Despite the widespread flooding, no serious injuries were reported.
The adverse weather was accompanied by reports of dozens of calls across the Silesia region. Following the storm, residents can anticipate a shift in weather patterns, with temperatures expected to rise to 25 degrees Celsius. The incident highlighted the immediate impact of heavy precipitation on local infrastructure, as streets were temporarily transformed, and emergency services managed the resulting chaos.
