A secret operation has captured a Marijampolė prison official who was having an affair with inmates – drugs and ammunition were found

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Criminal Intelligence Service is currently conducting an investigation concerning several serious offenses. These include the abuse or illicit possession of narcotic or psychotropic substances intended for distribution, the illicit possession of large quantities of such substances, and the unauthorized possession of firearms, ammunition, explosives, or explosive materials. As part of this ongoing criminal inquiry, officers from the Criminal Intelligence Service executed operations on May 29th, around 6:30 a.m.

Following both public and non-public investigative procedures, the service apprehended a junior specialist employed by the Security Management Department at the Marijampolė prison. The individual was reportedly involved in a plan to introduce prohibited items into the correctional facility. During the search conducted on the arrested individual, authorities recovered a package containing various items.

The details of the contents found were subsequently documented as part of the continuing investigation.
