Monday forecasts an even higher peak, potentially reaching 32–37 degrees. Following this peak, a slight moderation is anticipated, with Tuesday showing temperatures approximately 7–9 degrees cooler than Monday, and subsequent days remaining cooler. The current weather pattern is notable for setting consecutive heat records on June 27, 28, and 29, 2019.
Meteorologists suggest there is potential for the current conditions to surpass the absolute record for June heat, which stands at 35.7 degrees (recorded in Kašidory on June 12, 2019). Furthermore, if the temperature rises to 35.8 degrees or higher, it would mark the highest recorded temperature in Lithuania in nearly 11 years, surpassing the previous high of 37.4 degrees set in Birštonas on August 8, 2015. According to meteorologist Gytis Valaka, the potential to overturn the existing Lithuanian heat record and establish a new June record remains a distinct possibility.
