A short speech about NATO unity and love for it

During recent meetings, Donald Trump reportedly expressed feeling a sense of respect and affection for the United States emanating from other NATO member nations. He stated that the sentiment was palpable, noting that other leaders conveyed strong support. Trump remarked, “They like the work I do.

They said, ‘Mr. President, we love you.’ This was said by adults. Doesn’t it make you feel good?

I don’t know, maybe they tried to flatter me and they succeeded to some extent because there was an unparalleled unity.”

Following these comments, the US president urged all NATO countries to elevate their defense spending to the 5% of gross domestic product (GDP) benchmark as promptly as possible. Ankara-based G. Nauseda commented on the matter, asserting that negotiations cannot proceed effectively if one party is unprepared.

Nauseda indicated that an agreement on such defense funding should have been reached much earlier. Trump suggested that increased defense expenditures by NATO members would ultimately benefit the United States, primarily through the increased purchase of American-made weaponry and military equipment.
