After a 3-person death caused by a head-on collision, the driver of a truck in Vilnius district spoke: it happened in an instant

On September 14th, at approximately 2:09 PM, emergency services were dispatched to Gaukštoniai village in the Nemenčinės district following reports of a collision between a light vehicle and a truck. According to initial reports provided by Eltai, the light car involved in the accident was carrying multiple passengers. Edita Zdanevičienė stated that upon the arrival of firefighters, two individuals were extricated from the light vehicle and received immediate medical attention.

She specified that the rescued persons were a woman and a child. Furthermore, the driver of the light car became trapped inside the vehicle, requiring specialized equipment used by firefighters to safely remove and hand over the individual to medics. Tomas Bražėnas, a representative from the Vilnius County Police Department, provided details regarding the other vehicle involved.

He confirmed that the driver of a Toyota Prius, registered in 1975, was killed at the scene of the collision. The incident involved a significant accident at the intersection of the two vehicles. Emergency crews managed the scene to address the casualties and the structural damage sustained by both the light car and the truck.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the precise circumstances that led to the collision involving the different types of cars.
