Azerbaijani media has reported that the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev, has issued a special decree awarding the “Sabah” club a sum of 5 million manats. This substantial funding, equivalent to approximately 2.52 million euros, will be drawn from the national reserve funds slated for the 2026 budget. This financial allocation represents one of several sources of funding anticipated for the club.
The “Sabah” team is also set to benefit significantly from the upcoming Champions League tournament. This season is scheduled to feature 36 participating teams. Each of these teams is projected to receive a total of 18.62 million euros earmarked for the main tournament phase.
Furthermore, additional millions of manats are expected to accumulate through the results achieved in various primary competitions. The support package suggests a considerable investment in the club’s current standing within the country’s sporting landscape. The infusion of funds from the state reserve, combined with the substantial prize money from European competition participation, positions the club for a significant period of financial stability and competitive focus.
These incoming funds are expected to bolster the team’s resources as they prepare for their goals on the continental stage.
