According to data released by the State Tax Inspectorate (STI), R. Žemaitaitis has made adjustments to his asset declarations on multiple occasions. Reporting on the matter, the LRT Research Department and Sieni noted that the politician began correcting his filings for the first time in the spring of 2021.
STI data indicates that these adjustments to his asset declarations have occurred on a bi-annual basis since 2021. In the 2021 filing, for instance, the amount declared in cash was increased by nearly 82.5 thousand euros, bringing the total to 100 thousand euros. The politician subsequently indicated that he held 27.5 thousand euros more in cash in 2021 than his prior reporting suggested.
Subsequent years showed a pattern of reduction in reported savings. The 2022 declarations showed a decrease of 63.6 thousand euros in the cash amount. This trend continued in 2023, where the cash savings were reduced by 60 thousand euros.
The most substantial adjustment was recorded in the 2024 declarations, where the amount declared in cash saw a reduction of 99.3 thousand euros. These repeated adjustments highlight a consistent pattern of revisions to his reported assets over the last few years.
