After the long-awaited victory, M. Blaževičius taught the public: “You should think about it”

Despite a sluggish start during the first half of their contest, the Lithuanian national team demonstrated a marked improvement in the third and fourth quarters. The team’s performance shifted significantly during the latter stages of play, characterized by increased effort and visible emotional investment, which ultimately contributed to their successful outcome. According to team leader Marekas Blaževičius, the shift in momentum was deeply connected to team morale.

“We calmly put things in order, and I think, it somehow united us,” Blaževičius stated. He credited the stabilizing influence of the coach, noting that the coach’s calm demeanor removed pre-game stress. “He said that we’ll do it, and that united us,” Blaževičius explained.

Blaževičius, who was absent for the previous game against Arizona University, was a central figure on the court. He recorded the highest minutes played among the twelve registered players, logging nearly 35 minutes. During this time, he contributed 15 points, scoring six of ten attempts in doubles play, and was instrumental in recovering eight balls.

The team’s improved focus was evident in their shooting efficiency during the final two quarters, where they missed only 28 points. Observers noted that the players appeared to think strategically as the game progressed. The combination of renewed focus, high energy, and the unifying leadership provided by the coach appeared crucial to the team’s ability to secure a positive result.
