Meteorological data indicates that while many regions across Lithuania met or surpassed their expected monthly rainfall norms, significant disparities were observed between different geographical areas. The variation in precipitation amounts across the country was substantial, with the wettest and driest recorded locations showing a difference approaching two times the normal average. The period spanning June 1st through the end of the month proved to be exceptionally wet in several areas.
Skuod recorded the highest measurement, accumulating 128.9 mm, which represents 258% of the usual monthly norm. Other locations experiencing above-average rainfall included Rietavas (121.9 mm), Kalvarija (118.7 mm), Plungė (110.7 mm), Kaunas (105.7 mm), and Laukuva in the Šilalė district (101.2 mm). Conversely, rainfall totals were markedly lower in other parts of Lithuania.
The driest recording station was situated in Kybartas within the Vilkaviškis district, which registered only 48 mm. Additionally, stations in Akmenė, Panevėžys, Vilnius Trakų Vokės, Dotnuva, and Anykščiai reported rainfall amounts that either did not reach or only slightly exceeded the 50 mm threshold for the month. These figures underscore the localized nature of precipitation patterns across the nation.
