Emergency services were alerted at 22:30 regarding the crash on the Rykantai – Trakai road, with initial reports indicating multiple injuries and the potential presence of trapped individuals. Firefighters responded to the scene and confirmed that medics attended to the victims.
During the operation, personnel successfully recovered the body of one of the drivers from a pile of scrap metal. The second driver involved in the accident sustained injuries and was subsequently transported for medical treatment. In unrelated incidents reported recently, another vehicular accident took place in the Vilnius district on June 15.
In that separate event, a minor cyclist was injured after being struck by a car that was involved in a left-turn collision with a motorcyclist.
