Deadly head-on collision in Trakai district: all services rushed to the accident site, the road was blocked

According to reports received by the Situation Coordination Department of the Fire and Rescue Department, an automobile accident occurred on June 20 in the Trakai district, near the Rykantų village. Emergency services were alerted at 22:30 regarding the crash on the Rykantai – Trakai road, with initial reports indicating multiple injuries and the potential presence of trapped individuals. Firefighters responded to the scene and confirmed that medics attended to the victims.

During the operation, personnel successfully recovered the body of one of the drivers from a pile of scrap metal. The second driver involved in the accident sustained injuries and was subsequently transported for medical treatment. In unrelated incidents reported recently, another vehicular accident took place in the Vilnius district on June 15.

In that separate event, a minor cyclist was injured after being struck by a car that was involved in a left-turn collision with a motorcyclist. These reports highlight ongoing emergency responses across different regions. The services continue to manage and report on various traffic incidents, ensuring prompt assistance is provided following any accident.

Authorities remain focused on managing the immediate aftermath of these events while investigating the causes of the accidents to prevent future occurrences.
