Drunk drivers caused accidents in Trakai district and Vilnius

The Vilnius County Police Department reported two separate traffic incidents occurring on July 14, both involving drivers who were operating vehicles while under the influence. The first collision took place at approximately 3:15 p.m. in the village of Anglininkai, located within the Kirsna district of Trakai.

The accident involved a motorcycle, identified as a “Berretta 250,” operated by a man born in 2004, which collided with a bicycle ridden by a woman born in 2001. Authorities at the scene determined that the motorcycle driver was drunk, and subsequent testing revealed a blood alcohol level of 2.21 prom. Later that day, at 7:15 p.m., a separate incident was recorded in Vilnius on Sodų street.

Here, a Volkswagen vehicle, driven by a man born in 1998, struck a stationary Audi occupied by another man born in 1983. In this second case, the driver of the Volkswagen was also found to be drunk, with the recorded blood alcohol level matching the previous incident at 2.21 prom. In both reported instances, the police department confirmed that impaired operation was a contributing factor to the collisions.

The reports highlight separate incidents across different geographical areas, including the Kirsna district and within the city limits of Vilnius. The consistent finding of elevated blood alcohol levels underscores the department’s focus on enforcement regarding intoxicated driving across the region.
