According to data from the BPC, call volumes peaked in the Klaipėda and Vilnius regions. Specifically, the Klaipėda region recorded 5,899 calls, closely followed by the Vilnius region with 5,820 calls. On June 24 alone, the BPC received 5,656 calls; of this total, 2,891 calls were logged in Klaipėda, and 2,765 were recorded in the Vilnius region.
BPC Deputy Manager Jelena Montvilienė noted that the “Joninės” festival consistently results in one of the busiest periods for the service. She explained that during such festive times, increased public activity—including attending events, traveling, and spending time near natural areas and water bodies—naturally leads to a higher volume of necessary assistance requests. Montvilienė emphasized the critical role of every reported incident, stating that accurately transmitted messages allow emergency services to reach the location of an emergency more rapidly, thereby enabling the provision of necessary aid.
In an instance related to the recent festival period, police officers in Klaipėda conducted checks on a BPC operator who was found to be intoxicated during the two festive days.
