A company representative, Rasa Juodkienė, announced on Friday that efforts were underway to restore service to all affected customers by that day. She noted that the number of disconnected customers observed on Friday morning fluctuated between 2,000 and 2,500 individuals. According to Juodkienė, this figure changes as restoration efforts successfully resolve localized issues.
The service disruptions are linked to severe weather activity. Data provided by the Lithuanian Hydrometeorology Service indicated that, as of 19:00 on Thursday, the country experienced more than 3,000 lightning strikes. Rainfall was notably concentrated in certain regions; Utena recorded 33.1 mm of precipitation—nearly half of its monthly average—while Molėtai registered 29.3 mm, accounting for 42 percent of the expected monthly norm.
Looking ahead, the forecast predicts short periods of rain in several areas overnight. Wind conditions are expected to come from the west, with speeds ranging between 8 and 13 meters per second. Temperatures are anticipated to drop to a low of 7–12 degrees Celsius.
Authorities continue to monitor conditions to ensure the stability of the electrical grid and the safety of the public.
