Firefighters rescued people trapped in a boat in Lake Plateliai

At 3:56 a.m., the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue received a report concerning a fishing vessel that had become stranded in the shallow waters of Lake Plateliai, specifically within the Plungė district. The incident involved a boat unable to navigate due to the shallows, with an initial count of six people aboard. Upon arrival at the scene, personnel from the fire department, accompanied by police officers, proceeded to the stranded boat.

During the assessment, immediate assistance was required to ensure the safety of the occupants. The firefighters worked to manage the evacuation process. While three of the passengers were successfully brought safely to the shore, several other people on board declined to disembark at that time.

Despite the refusal of some individuals to leave the vessel, the Plateliai firefighters ultimately took charge of moving the boat to a safer location on the shoreline, concluding the rescue operation. The swift response of the emergency services ensured that the vessel was recovered from the shallow area.
