For home buyers – a good time: a significant change has occurred on the market

According to Indrė Genytė-Pikčienė, the head economist at Artea bank, the Lithuanian housing market remains unaffected by current geopolitical uncertainties, increasing interest rates, or the impact of the Gulf conflict. She noted that despite seasonal trends typically causing a decline in summer, the activity in June remained robust. Genytė-Pikčienė reported that the volume of both apartment and individual house purchase transactions saw an increase of nearly 12% in June.

Furthermore, she indicated that the number of transactions surpassed the average recorded for this month over the past decade by one-tenth. Complementing this assessment, Tomas Žiaugra, director of the development department at EIKA Development, stated that the rate of sales achieved during the first half of the year met established expectations. These statements suggest a degree of stability within the residential sector of the Lithuanian market.

The data provided on recent housing transactions indicates sustained buyer activity that counters broader macroeconomic headwinds. The observed increase in transaction volumes suggests that demand remains solid across various segments of the property market. The expert commentary frames the current housing market performance as resilient.

By highlighting the strong performance in June, experts suggest that local market fundamentals are currently outweighing external economic pressures. This positive outlook on transaction activity provides insight into the ongoing health and trajectory of the broader Lithuanian real estate market.
